How to be Present in the Moment

Nov 30, 2021
A study from @harvard showed that people tend to spend 46.9% of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they are doing, and this mind-wandering typically makes them unhappy (The Harvard Gazette).

When we talk about mindfulness, let's clarify that we are NOT expecting you to be mindful 24/7! That would be impossible!

Ask yourself what would it be like to lessen the time your mind is wandering to the future, or the past, and find a few minutes to be in the present?

Instead of 18 hours of your day in your head, let's try to reduce it to 17 hrs and 45 min?! That 46% statistic might be low for some of us😜

Try this week to practice throwing yourself into the present moment with yourself or with your kids. When those pesky mind wandering thoughts pop in, again remember that is normal- the goal is not to eliminate thought, but to strengthen your ability to return to the present moment-however messy and imperfect that moment may be.💖
