Hello Sensory Explorers!
We wanted to take a closer look at one of our new Summer Sensory Kit themes - the Bees Kit! This “sweet-as-can-bee” 😉 themed Kit is dedicated to teaching the valuable emotional skill of Teamwork through imaginative, open-ended play.
Our mini resource booklet guides you through playful metaphor to discuss what it means to be a team player and work with others towards a common goal.
Here are some other ways to encourage collaboration:
👭 Model teamwork yourself by inviting cooperation on tasks
🧲 Use magnetic or linking pieces (i.e. Legos, magnetic tiles, etc.) to talk about teamwork. Point out that when each piece is by itself, there are limits to what it can become…however, when we join together all different pieces, the things we can build and create are endless and amazing!
📽️ Point out examples of characters teaming up in books, shows, or movies
Whether reenacting the efficient teamwork of a real beehive or creating brand new stories to reflect real life situations, this kit allows kids to experience the joys of teamwork!
