As the spooktacular season is in full swing, it's time for a friendly reminder:
There’s no such thing as a perfect parent or a “perfect” holiday. We encourage you to let go of any external pressure and hold a bit more space for self-compassion this season.
We can celebrate magical moments with our kids and create memories in so many different ways! 🧙♀️🕸️
🧚♀️Remember, Halloween can be overwhelming, even for the tiniest witches and werewolves. Be patient and validate their feelings. It's all part of the adventure. 🧙♂️💫
When the candy quest gets intense, meltdowns might happen. Have a plan for a quiet corner or a cozy spot to recharge those ghostly batteries. 🍫🧟
🦄 Lastly, try to keep sensory needs in mind. Some costumes might feel so uncomfy to little adventurers.
Honoring their needs, practicing trying on their costume, accessories, or face paint, and reading books about the entire trick-or-treat experience WELL ahead of time have been really helpful strategies I’ve tried in the past to support my own sensory seeker.🎃
This Halloween, let's embrace the moments of messy creativity, the laughter amidst the chaos, and the joy of being together. ✨
Happy spooky season!🌙
